After gaining steam and winning two in a row, the Columbus Lions (2-3) ran into the one of the toughest teams in the NAL, the Carolina Cobras, (4-1) and wasn’t able to keep up, dropping on the road 60-32. It was a quick strike from Julius Gregory to Charle McCullum for a 27-yard touchdown to put the Cobras up 6-0 on Columbus. After throwing a pick-six, courtesy of Mike Green, Luke Collis would answer back with a 14-yard touchdown to Chris Sanders-McCullom. JT Surrat would add on a blocked field goal return for a touchdown and Blake Erickson tacked on a 33-yard field goal, but Columbus would head into the half down 21-15.
