The Columbus Lions are pleased to announce the re-signing of two fan favorites to return to the Jungle. 2018 All-NAL Center Rony Barrow (6'2, 315 - Bethune Cookman) and Defensive Lineman Darrius Rosser (6'4, 265 - Arkansas State) have both agreed to terms with the organization for the 2019 NAL season.
Barrow returns to the Lions for his second season with the organization and in the NAL. Barrow began his career playing collegiately for Bethune Cookman University, where he finished his senior season with 42 tackles and 6 sacks from the Defensive Line position. From there, Barrow's collegiate career earned him a free agent contract with the New York Jets of the NFL, where he spent much of 2015. Following his time with the Jets, Barrow entered arena football as a Defensive Lineman for the Tampa Bay Storm of the AFL, where he spent 2015 and 2016. Astonishingly, the 2018 NAL season was Barrow's debut on the offensive side of the ball, specifically at Center, where Barrow started every game for the Lions. Even more impressive, Barrow earned a 2nd-team All-NAL selection while blocking for 7 different offensive All-NAL selections and blocking for both the NAL Rookie of the Year and NAL Offensive Player of the Year in his backfield.
Darrius Rosser returns to the Lions this season after making a huge impact on the NAL in the 2018 season. Rosser played collegiately for Arkansas State, including starting all 13 games in 2016 season for the Red Wolves, posting 11 tackles, 2 sacks, and 2 TFLs. Rosser made his way to the Lions roster for the 2018 NAL season and made a name for himself throughout the league for his dynamic pass rush moves and motor that does not stop. Rosser gave opposing offensive linemen fits in 2018, to the tune of 6.5 sacks, 8 TFLs, and 22.5 tackles. The Columbus Lions have traditionally been known for stellar defensive line play and an imposing pass rush, and Darrius Rosser fits that bill perfectly.
