Under the leadership of Coach McKinney, the Lions successfully navigated a season filled with hurdles and ended with only the second undefeated season in franchise history.

However, the Lions have decided not to extend his contract for 2024, parting ways with Coach McKinney when his contract is completed late next month.

The Lions staff and the organization’s owners wish to thank Chris McKinney for his tireless effort as Head Coach during the history making championship season of 2023.

“We want to wish Chris a strong and healthy future in arena football and sincerely appreciate all that he has done for our organization,” said team President Kacee Smith.

General Manager Lee Snow added, “Chris is a true friend and I pray that he has a long career ahead of him. We weathered the storm of 2023 together after all of the changes in our organization and I am tremendously proud of everything he accomplished.”
