Columbus Lions Issue Apology to Ft. Moore and the Maneuver Center of Excellence Band

Columbus, GA — June 9, 2024 — The Columbus Lions organization extends its sincerest apologies to Ft. Moore and the Maneuver Center of Excellence Band for the unfortunate oversight during the pregame festivities of our recent Military Appreciation Night.

During this special event, intended to honor and celebrate our military heroes, a significant miscommunication occurred, leading to the playing of a pre-recorded version of the National Anthem by our DJ. This inadvertent action resulted in the Ft. Moore Maneuver Center of Excellence Band not being able to perform the National Anthem live as planned.

We deeply regret this error and the disappointment it caused for the band members, our honored guests, and all those in attendance. The Columbus Lions hold the highest respect for our military community, and it was never our intention to undermine their contributions or the spirit of the evening.

To the Ft. Moore Maneuver Center of Excellence Band, we express our heartfelt apologies. We are committed to making amends and demonstrating our appreciation for your service and talent.

We have already begun reviewing our event procedures to prevent such occurrences in the future, ensuring better communication and coordination during all of our events.
