Antwane Grant earns Allstate Catch of the Week

by Alex Husting

This week the Allstate Catch of the Week goes to Antwane Grant, the receiver who led the team in yards and tied for the lead in receptions and touchdowns during Saturday’s victory over the Cobras. Grant finished the game with seven receptions for 80 yards and two touchdowns in what was only Grant’s third game of the season, after missing the Predators and Flight games due to injury.

One of the highlights of the game was Grant’s leaping touchdown grab with the defender all over him in the middle of the second quarter which put the Lions ahead 24-12. The play can be viewed here with the catch coming at the 1:03:46 mark.

Grant’s impact since returning from injury has been huge with the former AFL Rookie of the Year combining for 130 total yards in the last two games. Additionally, Grant draws significant attention away from the likes of Lonnie Outlaw, Romon Deloatch or Desmond Reece when they are out on the field as defenses cannot risk doubling any of the Lions’ receivers.

Grant is a key part of the dangerous receiving corp that the Lions have assembled and he will be looking to continue this stretch of success when the Lions return to action against the Sharks on July 17.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. EST. The game can be watched live with CTV Beam, at https://www.nationalarenaleague.com/home or on the NAL’s official Youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSzSD8STXiEVPVtUDO9juhA.
