The Columbus Lions are gearing up for an action-packed evening as they prepare to face off against the Amarillo Venom in their 2024 American Indoor Football League home opener on Friday, April 12. The game, set to kick off at 7pm at the Columbus Civic Center, will be preceded by pregame festivities starting at 6:45pm, the Lions Walk at 6pm, and tailgating in the Vectorply Party Zone beginning at 5pm between Parking Lots C and D.

This Friday's game is not just about football—it's also First Responder Night! In appreciation of their service, all first responders are invited to enjoy the game with their families for free. To claim their complimentary tickets, all first responders must register on the Columbus Lions website prior to 24 from kickoff. This promotion is not available on game day or at the Civic Center Box Office.

Adding to the excitement, the relaunched Lions Dance Team will be showcasing their talent with a performance during the game, promising to dazzle and entertain the crowd. Halftime will feature an exhilarating First Responder Relay Race and ice cream eating contest presented by Bruster's Ice Cream, offering fun and thrills for everyone in attendance.

"We are thrilled to kick off our home season with such an exciting event," said Kacee Smith, President of the Columbus Lions. "We are grateful for the opportunity to honor our first responders and provide a night of entertainment for the community."

Fans are encouraged to arrive early, as the doors to the Columbus Civic Center will open at 6pm.

Additionally, please remember the Columbus Civic Center's clear bag policy for the safety and convenience of all attendees.
