Columbus Lions Roar to Victory in 2024 AIF Season Opener Against Amarillo Venom

AMARILLO, TX - The Columbus Lions started their 2024 American Indoor Football (AIF) season with a bang, defeating the Amarillo Venom with a commanding 47-26 victory. The game, held at the Amarillo Civic Center, showcased the Lions' dominance on both sides of the ball.

Offensively, Damecio Ewing led the charge with an outstanding performance, scoring an impressive four touchdowns for the Lions. Romond Deloatch and Jarmon Fortson also contributed to the scoring effort, each adding a touchdown of their own. Quarterback Marcus Brooks delivered a stellar performance, boasting a 76% completion rate for 165 yards in the air.

Defensively, Marte Sears was a standout player for the Lions, recording six tackles, including one sack, and securing a crucial interception. Sears' performance helped solidify the Lions' defense, keeping the Venom at bay throughout the game.
