Final Showdown in the Fountain City?

by Tyler Boutwell

This Saturday night, the Lions will look to make it their 15th out of 16 and 5th consecutive season ending in playoff contention. They face the 3-8, last placed Orlando Predators. The Predators are the un-envious owners of a 5 game losing streak. Their last win was an early June, narrow margin victory against the Columbus Lions 48-44. The Lions, alternatively, are looking to make this 3 games won in a row. They are the much more proud owners of a 5 and 1 record in the Lion's Den. If they can make it 4 and 6 respectively and we get a little help from who could not be described in any way as friendly (the dastardly Jacksonville Sharks), we could see ourselves end the night in second place in the NAL and looking forward to a home playoff game on Friday the 29th. The pack will be stronger by the addition of a legendary lion, Damian "Nighthawk" Daniels who had an interception returned for a touchdown last weekend in his return. Saturday will be his return at home. The Lions will need every roar this Saturday night to cap a tumultuous but successful 16th season.
