Lions Name Corry Black General Manager

Successful Business Owner & Coach Secures Top Front Office Role with Lions
COLUMBUS, GA –The Columbus Lions are proud to announce local business owner, coach, and leader Corry Black has been named the Columbus Lions’ new General Manager. Black currently is the Dean of Scholars at Emmanuel Prep School of Math and Science here in Columbus, a role as he leads a Pre-K–8th grade preparatory school where he mentors and develops young scholars. Black will also continue the role as the Dean of Scholars while taking on his new position with the Lions. This news follows the team's major announcement of its new Majority Owner, Roger Beck. Both Beck and Black have major roots in the Columbus sports community, both serving as well-known coaches at the youth and high school levels.
Corry Black is the owner of CB Hoops, a company he started in Georgia that provides services across the country; he has operated the business for over 20 years. Black is also a coach and mentor and plans to continue in these roles while supporting the Lions in his new position as General Manager.
His role in the basketball community has expanded over the years as he runs the Corry Black Classic, a basketball jamboree hosted in Atlanta, Georgia. Black not only mentors athletes but also fellow coaches, training the next generation of great Georgia athletes and the young coaches who may lead them.
Black is also the former Athletic Director and head boys’ state championship coach at Pacelli High School, where he built a strong legacy within the Columbus sports community.

As the General Manager of the Columbus Lions Corry Black will lead the Lions growing front office and oversee some of the team's major decisions on & off the field. Black will serve as the right hand to the Lions Ownership group but as a chief supporter to the Lions coaching staff lead by Head Coach & Lions Hall of Famer Damian Daniels.
The Lions look to claim another championship victory as one of the most successful teams in the sport over the years the Columbus Lions have brought several championship teams to their fans (2010,2015,2016,2023,2024). Inside the arena the Lions known for their roaring fan base who crowd the Columbus Civic Center also known as “The Jungle” and are also known for being a competitive team with over 17 Playoff Appearances since the team kicked off their inaugural season in 2007.
