Lions Re-Sign Defensive Back Rodney Hall

by Alex Husting

Rodney Hall will be returning to Columbus for the 2022 season after the Lions re-signed the defensive back earlier this week. The Lions are designating Hall as one of their two defensive specialists allowed under the new Ironman rules.

Last season Hall was an integral part of the dominant Lions defense and was one of the top defensive backs in the NAL. His four interceptions and eight pass breakups were second on the team and top-10 in the league. He was third on the Lions in tackles and eighth in the NAL with 37.

Rodney Hall won back-to-back NAL Defensive Player of the Week Awards during the regular season with his pick-six performance against the Jersey Flight in the regular season finale and his two interceptions and one pass breakup against the Orlando Predators in the first round of the playoffs.

In Ironman football, teams are allowed to designate two offensive and defensive specialists and one for special teams as well, with the remainder of the roster playing both sides of the ball. With the Lions designating Hall as a defensive specialist, he will remain on the defensive side of the ball.

The NAL released an official set of rules earlier this month and that article can be found here.

Season tickets are already available for the 2022 season and they can be found here
