Message from Mason Espinosa to Lions Nation

First off, what an unbelievable blessing it has been to put on Lions blue for so long.  There are so many people to thank that I could never get through it all. Thank you all for allowing me to be your Quarterback and your friend.

My times at the Civic Center and at Garrett-Harrison have been full of its ups and downs (fortunately much more ups than downs) and it is a time in my life that will forever be special to me.  Columbus and Phenix City have become a second home to me and I will miss it dearly, but more importantly I will miss the people even more.  You all have become family to me, and I am forever grateful.  I appreciate all the texts, messages, and calls I have received from people inside and outside of the organization expressing support and well-wishes.  It means a ton to me!

My final message to Lions fans is simple. You are in great hands.  Coach Gibson is the best coach in Arena Football, period. Darren is a top flight quarterback, and this roster has the most talent in the league from top to bottom.  I fully expect a championship to be brought back home to Columbus this season.

It is very bittersweet for me to know I will never be able to run out of the tunnel in front of you all again.  You are and will always be the best, most passionate fans in Arena Football.  I will always be a fan and look forward to Columbus continuing their tradition of dominance.  One last time, thank you all for EVERYTHING!
